Ameer accuses censor board asking for bribe

Ameer accused Indian censor board as nothing more than a money seeking mafia gang. During his press announcement and interviews, he had mentioned that censor board had asked Ameer for bribe amount commensurate to certifying Aadhi-Baghavan as 'U/A' or 'U'.

What seemed odd to fans is that despite giving an 'A' certificate for Ameer's movie, why did the censor board still insisted on muting all the profanities. Ameer was furious and wanted to fight this battle and take it all the way up to Supreme Court. Due to producer's insistence of not inviting more trouble and delays, Ameer confided that he yielded to releasing the movie without protesting against censor board's behavior.

So far, 2013 has been a challenging year for censor board with a number of controversies around Vishwaroopam, Vanayudham and now Aadhi-Bhagavan. Many in the industry and general audience have started questioning the efficacy of censor board.
