On MGR 's 101st Birthday, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan launch Kizhakku Africavil Raju


Today was the 101st birth anniversary of the the late actor, AIADMK founder and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M.G. Ramachandran aka MGR. Marking this special occasion, the pooja ceremony of a MGR's once dream project Kizhakku Africavil Raju was launched today with a pooja ceremony by industry stalwarts Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. The movie was originally launched by MGR around the same time as his Political career but never got made. Now, it is being made as an animation film with director Arul Moorthy at the helm and Vels Film International and Prabhu Deva Studios backing it.
 
What's interesting is the occasion also marked the first joint public appearance of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan post the former's announcement of contesting in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Kizhakku Africavil Raju is expecting a release by 2019 with D. Imman for the music and Antony for the edits.
