Gautham Menon confirms Yennai Arindhaal 2!


In a recent media interaction, producer-director Gautham Menon who successfully gave Yennai Arindhaal with Ajith spoke openly about a sequel being on the cards. Menon's exact words were :

“I plan to meet Ajith sir in the next five months with a bound script for Yennai Arindhaal 2. Let’s see what happens.”

Given Kollywood's fascination with sequels (16 already in the pipeline), it doesn't come as a wonder that a director of a successful film plans to make one. What's fascinating though is, since Yennai Arindhaal already covered the journey of a 13 year old Satyadev till 38, the sequel could only possibly have Ajith in his mid-life avatar. Also the aspect of him not being a police office anymore (as suggested in the prequel) leaves us wondering if it would be devoid of all the police activities.
