With Velaikkaran's awe-inspiring slum set, Muthuraj scores yet again

Velaikkaran's slum set making video has gone viral. The set looks super realistic and the footage of art director Muthuraj, Dop Ramji and director Mohan Raja talking about it has fascinated one and all. Muthuraj adds more details about this set which was put up at Prasad Studios, Chennai,

"A big portion of the film happens in the slum set as the hero and his friends reside in a slum. Producer RD Raja gave us the idea to erect a set. We visited close to 15 slums and researched in depth before starting the set work. It totally took about 55 days to get the job done.

We wanted to show the congestion which prevails in a slum and also make each house a character by itself. We brought a realistic feel to our slum set by using real garbage and other waste materials. We also created a 'koovam' around our set. The total spread was about 7.5 acres and we shot for about 50 days there. Velaikkaran will surely be the next level for Sivakarthikeyan."

The film releases in a big way on December 22.
