The news of director Seenu Ramasamy gearing up to be back-in-action has been doing the rounds for quite sometime and films like Mamanithan (with Vijay Sethupathi) and Oru Jeevan Azhaithathu (with Atharvaa) were said to be marking the director's next after Dharmadurai. However, in a surprising move, actor Udhayanidhi Stalin has now announced that Seenu Ramasamy will be directing his next film under Udhay's home-banner Red Giant Movies.

While Oru Jeevan Azhaithathu was said to be a rural thriller and Mamanithan, a PAN Indian story, it is yet to be revealed what the concept of this new project would be. Udhay has also confirmed the the film begins shooting on January 19, 2018.
