Richie actor Nivin Pauly has confirmed to media outlets that he wasn't approached from anyone from team Viswasam, while maintaining that he wishes to work with all top stars of the Tamil film industry. His clarification comes a day after speculations were high on Nivin being a part of this upcoming Ajith starrer, making it one more event (the other being his fans trolling director Roopesh for his post on Richie, eventually leading to an apology from the director) where Nivin was in the news.

The Siva directed Viswasam had a low-profile launch in Chennai on December 7, 2017 with the entire crew sans Ajith attending the ceremony. Principal shooting of the film, which is a production venture of Sathya Jyothi Films will commence from January 2018. Viswasam has Vetri for cinematography, Ruben for edits and will see Ajith in a new coloured hair-do.
