A huge online deal for Shankar's 2.0

The online streaming rights of Shankar's 2.0, starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video, who are making huge inroads to Indian cinema, bagging popular new films from across all Indian languages. 2.0 will be available in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi on Prime Video, some time after its theatrical release in April 2018. The duration of the window between 2.0's theatrical release and its online release would be interesting to see.

"Both Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar are phenomenal actors with an unbelievable fan following that will soon get the chance to stream 2.0 on their favorite streaming device,”

 

 said Vijay Subramaniam, Director of Content, Amazon Prime Video, to Variety Magazine.
