Director Vinoth - Karthi's Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru has had an above average opening day, grossing about 3.15 CR in TN (52 lakhs in Chennai city). After a slow start, the film picked up quickly and has been going good from yesterday's evening shows. The weekend is bound to be really good, as the reviews and public talk are unanimously positive. Theeran's TN theatrical rights are worth 18 CR and the film has to gross more than 36 CR to emerge viable commercially.

In the USA too, Theeran is doing well, grossing more than 100K$ after its premieres (Thursday) and first day, as reported by the distributors ATMUS Entertainment.
