Mersal takes Overseas Box Office by storm: Enters USA All-Time top 5 &  #1 in UK Box Office

Mersal has taken overseas box office by storm, thanks to the controversy around the film and a very neat presentation from Atlee. The movie has performed very well in all the geographical region.

USA - Only Rajini's films are ahead of Mersal now:

After its extended weekend of 5 days + the premieres, Mersal has grossed close to $1.28 million (latest update) in North America (USA + Canada). From the US alone, the gross is $1.1 million which has already made Mersal an all-time No.4 among Tamil films there.

Only Rajini's Kabali, Enthiran, and Lingaa are ahead of Mersal now, while Vishwaroopam completes in the Top 5. Given the pace at which it's going, looks like Mersal will challenge Lingaa and Enthiran's total collections but Kabali looks out of reach.

UK - all time #1 in the opening weekend:

In UK, the movie has minted £361,401 from its 5 days opening weekend beating Kabali's record. At this rate, the movie is likely to overtake Kabali's overall UK run in the coming weeks.

Australia - debuts at No 8:

The movie has debuted at #8 in the Australian Box Office chart this weekend, minting A$ 273,565 between 19 to 22 October. The total 5 days opening weekend has collected A$ 406,622 for the film.
