Kamal clarifies his tweet on Nilavembu Kashayam

Kamal Haasan's tweet on 17th October asking his fans not to distribute Nilavembu Kashayam was misconstrued for his opposition on the Government endorsed "kudineer", which is being used as a treatment for dengue.  Later that day, an activist by the name G.Devarajan filed a police complaint against the actor, stating that he is creating fear among people. He was also slammed by some politicos for provoking the people against the Government.

Following this, Kamal issued a statement clarifying the tweet. It states,
"Misconstruing my request for our NGOs to not distribute Nilavembu Kashayam, some people spreading false news of me opposing it is not fair by any means. I tweeted to warn the over enthusiasts to prevent them from giving an improper dosage of the controversial medicine. I did not wish my organizers distributing medicines without a physician's guidance or direction. The arrangement made by the government is with the help of medicinal practitioners. I am only criticizing the improper distribution of medicine to everyone without this arrangement or the guidance. I am a person who is welcoming to anything that helps the people, no matter who does it. But I have asked my organizers to stop any action based solely on enthusiasm and without the medical guidance. I do not have any differentiation for Siddha and Allopathy.

So, how do we prevent dengue till then? We could learn it from our neighboring state of Kerala. All these days we could have focused on the mosquitoes, instead of whiling the time with flies (sarcastic reference)."
