During a recent promotional interview for his latest Diwali release, Secret Superstar, Bollywood's perfectionist Aamir Khan went onto to reveal that the Tamil film 2.0 was first offered to him. Khan elaborated that when director Shankar Shanmugam wanted to make a sequel to the super-hit Enthiran, Rajinikanth was under a major health lock-down and hence referred Aamir Khan's name instead for the role. 

According to Khan, though he like the script, he felt he couldn't replace a star like Rajinikanth and hence turned down the offer. He aslo added that he knows for sure that the film, which is gearing up for an audio launch in Dubai next week has all the ingredients of becoming a blockbuster.

2.0 has Rajinikanth returning as Chitti and Dr Vaseegaran with Akshay Kumar playing an alien and Amy Jackson a robot in the film. The movie is shot in 3D and is produced at a budget of Rs. 400+ crores by Lyca Productions.
