Solo, Vizhithiru directors issue statements against movie strike in Tamil Nadu

Following the double taxation on movie tickets, the Tamil Nadu Producers' Council announced that there will be no Tamil movie releases this Friday. But this decision seems to have not gone down too well with the certain directors from the Tamil Film Industry, especially the ones who were awaiting their film's release this weekend.

Directors Bejoy Nambiar and Meera Kathiravan whose Solo and Vizhithiru (respectively) were two such films have issued a statement on the TFPC decision and they clearly show their disappointment against it. Take a look at their statements here :

Meera Kathiravan

"I have come to the TFPC meeting to speak for the financial losses that will incur from this suddenly announced strike..It is extremely dis-heartening to be in the company of, work with unjust people..."

Bejoy Nambiar

It is worth mentioning here that the theatre association, who are also on strike against the double taxation have decided to screen Solo for today alone in Tamil Nadu. Beginning tomorrow, license will not be issued for any movie releases.
