Vikram Vedha Enters Tokyo International Film Festival


 

Producer S. Shashikanth's YNOT Films have announced that the Madhavan-Vijay Sethupathi starrer Vikram Vedha has been selected for a premier screening at the 30th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF). This action drama which is a Pushkar-Gayathri directorial, will be screened between October 25, 2017 and Novemver 3, 2017 in Tokyo. This is the second time in a row both Madhavan and Sashikanth are being associated with the festival, as their Irudhi Suttru had made it to last year's screening.

 

Every year, 16 movies are selected from all over the world for a special screening and 6 movies get to participate in the competitive section. The Tokyo Sakura Grand Prix which is the highest award handed at the festival, is given to the best film selected every year. Apart from these, awards are given under various categories. Actress Shefali Shah happens to be the only Indian till date to win an award at the festival since its inception. She was awarded for her outstanding performance in Gandhi, My Father in the year 2007.
