Ranveer Singh to play a bisexual in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati?

Padmavati features Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles. The magnum opus will see  Ranveer playing the role of Alauddin Khilji while Deepika plays the titular role of Rani Padmini. On the other hand, Shahid will be seen essaying the role of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh. Now, there is a strong buzz about the male lead, Ranveer Singh in the film.

 

Bombay Times reports that historians have claimed Singh’s character Alauddin Khilji being bisexual in nature. Rumours are rife that Bhansali will explore Alauddin’s fascination and attraction to his his slave-general Malik Kafur. Earlier Singh has said that he had no objections playing such roles if the script demands it but it needs to be special to him.

 

The report adds that ‘Neerja’ actor Jim Sarbh will play the role of Malik Kafur in ‘Padmavati’ so it will be interesting to see how the two will be portrayed on-screen.
