Dulquer Salmaan's fan message addresses a serious piracy issue

Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan is slowly but steadily setting up his foot-print in the Tamil film industry. While thactor awaits the release of Solo and Mahanati in Tamil along with having signed a film with director Ra.Karthik and Desingh Periyasamy each, his film Parava in Malayam hit theatre screens today.

While it is not unusual for actors to request their fans from abstaining from piracy, Dulquer's message addressed a very common yet untouched aspect of piracy. He wrote :

“Please don't shoot videos or clips from the movie. Even if it's an artist intro or special scenes or fights or songs. I know it's out of love and excitement. But it's still as good as piracy when it's spread all over the internet and social media. Once it's out on DVD/Blu-Ray then its a different matter. No offense to anyone but kindly refrain from it.”

While it is true that shooting even a clip or a scene and circulating it online amounts to piracy and serious copyright infringement, not many address it and the overlook has made it a very acceptable practice. With Dulquer's message, the issue seems to have been finally addressed and we hope it attributes to the fight against piracy.
