"I'm not too convinced about bilinguals" - Tarak (Jr NTR) 

- A brief chat with Jr. NTR

Tarak (aka) Jr NTR is all gunned up for the release of Jai Lava Kusa tomorrow. He doesn't have any starry airs and talks a lot of deep philosophy as we catch up with him in Hyderabad. He plays triplets in Jai Lava Kusa and calls the film an emotional drama in an exclusive conversation,

"The three brothers in the film could have actually been played by three separate quality actors. I'm excited about the drama in the film more than the fact that I play triple roles. Generally, when the hero plays multiple roles (like Michael Madhana Kamarajan), the film will be high on comedy but this time I told director Bobby that we should avoid comedy and instead play more with emotions. The hard work is same for every film and I'm particularly excited about having played Jai. He is an angry man who longs for acceptance and recognition from his brothers and the world at large."

 

Tarak's career has been on a resurgence ever since Temper happened in 2015,

"I've seen a lot of ups and downs. Temper was a turning point in recent times. I no longer worried about others' expectations from me and started enjoying what I was doing. But you never know, I may go through another period of downfall starting with Jai Lava Kusa itself or my next Trivikram film."

Tarak admitted that doing Bigg Boss has opened him up as a person and that he is just being himself on the show. After doing the intense Jai, Tarak used the Bigg Boss shoots to 'detox' and get his life back to normal. Becoming a father has also evidently changed him a lot,

 

"I may sound philosophical but I just want to live life to the fullest with no regrets. My outlook towards life changed after my son was born. Seeing him, he was such a free, innocent soul without any baggage. But I won't advise people to be stupid in the name of living life to the fullest."

On the subject of doing bilinguals and entering Tamil cinema,

 

"Somehow, I'm not too convinced about the concept of bilinguals. Each market is completely different. What works in Telugu needn't work in Tamil. Baahubali was visual magic, it can't happen every time. Oopiri was a beautiful film but it didn't work great in Tamil (Thozha). For now, I just want to stabilize and strengthen my market in Telugu. I'm not ruling out trying Tamil cinema but it needs to be with a good subject. My mother is from Karnataka and I'm fluent with Kannada, but I can't do a Kannada film just for that."

 

Tarak also expressed a lot of enthusiasm when talking about doing epic tales about our Indian mythological warriors in a contemporary style.
