Vivegam Preview - SWOT Analysis

Tomorrow is the D-Day when one of the most anticipated films of the year, Ajith's Vivegam, will be taking an earth-shattering opening across the globe. This is the third film for Ajith with director Siva, who had managed to churn out hits with Veeram and Vedalam earlier.

Strengths

  • Undoubtedly, Ajith is the biggest pillar of the film. With his charisma and unflinching commitment, he is sure to elevate the movie's momentum several notches higher. His killer look and powerful dialogues have already created a rage among movie buffs.

  • Director Siva shares a great rapport with Ajith and he exactly knows how to play to the latter's strengths. If he has got the ingredients right for this commercial entertainer, this film might just complete a hat-trick of hits for Ajith and Siva.

  • Anirudh is known for his pulsating background score that can uplift any scene. With the film boasting of a generous dose of action sequences, Anirudh's score is expected to put the fans on their feet. The songs, which have an international flair, are chartbusters already.

  • The movie has an ensemble cast including Kajal Aggarwal, Akshara Haasan, Vivek Oberoi and Karunakaran, who are all expected to add excitement to the proceedings.

Weakness

  • Although the teaser and trailer were racy and action-packed, they didn't quite appeal to women and family audience. The initial word of mouth will be the key to attract those sections of the audience.

Opportunities

  • The buzz among the trade pundits is that Vivegam, which will open across 700+ screens in Tamil Nadu, is likely to break Kabali's opening day collection record of Rs 21.5 Crore. This will be a huge feat for Ajith and the industry, which has been struggling of late due to plethora of issues including GST, political turmoil, etc.

  • The film will mark Akshara Haasan's debut in Tamil. She was praised for her performance in Bollywood debut Shamitabh, and she is hoping to receive the same kind of response for Vivegam.

Threat

  • Vivegam's budget is rumored to have exceeded by Rs 20 Crore due to delays in foreign shoots, and the movie has to collect at least Rs 100 Crore to become a hit. But, with the kind of opening the movie is about to get, this number looks quite achievable.

Final Words

Thala fan or not, Vivegam might just be the perfect entertainer for this long weekend. We'll be back with the FDFS review.
