Latest update on Sundar C's Sangamithra

Ever since Shruthi Haasan's dramatic exit from director Sundar.C's most ambitious project Sangamithra happened, the question of who would replace her has become a topic of constant speculation. While names like Nayanthara and Hansika being tossed here and there, a source close to the unit reveals that Hansika did do a test shoot but she hasn't yet been finalized for the role. They also added that the initial association of Deepika Padukone to the film is also true, with the actress having had no issues to come on board. However, due to her Hollywood commitments Deepika was only ready to offer 3 months for shooting, whereas Sangamithra required more time than that. 

Sangamithra is most likely to begin shooting from October, 2017 with the team working full-fledged on the heavy pre-production work and have gone through with almost 75 percent of the work. The film is bankrolled Sri Thenandal Films with Jayam Ravi and Arya in the lead and A.R.Rahman for the music. The movie is said to be the story of a warrior princess and will be released in 2 parts.
