Is Spyder based on a Hollywood film?

With the shooting of Mahesh Babu's Spyder almost but complete and release date fixed for September 27th, a new wave of rumor is doing rounds across Tollywood. Reports are coming in that Spyder is based on a Hollywood film – The Satan Bug which was released in the 60s. The film makers including the director A.R. Murugadoss has not reacted to this allegation. The Satan Bug itself was based on a novel of the same name; the science fiction revolves around recovering a biological weapon from the hands of criminals. Its best to wait and watch the movie before accusing the film maker of copying this Hollywood movie.
