Actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar who was recently in the news for playing a grey role in Sandakozhi 2, is back in the news for another first in her career. The actress who has so far worked only with well-known directors (except for Vignesh Sivan who post their debut project went on to become a household name), has signed a film with first time director Muthukumar. The actress will also be seen sharing the lead with Vimal, who was last seen in Maapla Singham in 2016. 

This is the first time Vimal and Varalaxmi will be joining screen space.  And the project has come into limelight for its title Kaadhal Mannan, which is the title of an iconic Ajith starree from 1998. Will the aura of success rub off from the classic to the new-comer is something we can only wait and watch. The shoot is expected to commence in the first week of July. Official confirmation regarding this project is expected to be made soon.
