Sri Thenandal Films, producers of the Atlee directed Vijay 61 in an official announcement have revealed that the first look and title of Vijay 's 61st film will be unveiled tomorrow i.e June 21, 2017 at 6 PM. They have also said that the movie which has music by A.R. Rahman will have a grand audio launch in August, 2017 and that plans have already begun to implement the audio release.

With Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Kajal Aggarwal and Nithya Menon as the female leads, Vijay 61 also starrs S.J. Suryah, Sathyaraj and has Vadivel, Kovai Sarala and Sathyan for the comic relief. The screen-writing has been helmed by Baahubali writer Vijendra Prasad and Ramana Girivasan and the story, screenplay and dialogues have been taken care of by Atlee. Vijay 61 is the 100th production venture of Sri Thenandal Films and has been made at a mega budget.
