In India, you’ll not meet anyone who isn’t aware of the name Sachin Tendulkar. You may come across people who don’t like the game of cricket, but no one, absolutely no one has any reason for disliking the God of Cricket.

Sachin A Billion Dreams is a docu-drama based on the cricketer’s life, his struggles and his ultimate journey of the dream he and many lived. More than a film, it’s a celebration where you become nostalgic and rejoice those old moments, those heart thumping moments, those teary-eyed losses.

The film runs down the memory lane, from Sachin’s childhood practice days, his brother’s sacrifice and dedication, his coach’s hardwork and the discipline, his initial days in the Indian cricket team, his epic occasion of greatness in the 90’s, his captaincy, the lows and the ups, the World Cup Winning moment, his personal life, almost everything to his retirement speech. We see it all!

A.R. Rahman’s background score and music adds hugely to this emotional carnival of a film. Although, not very professional, but Sachin’s storytelling is very real and personal, probably the only time you will see master blaster so intimate and up-close. Kudoz to director James Erskine for such a brilliant execution of the master’s life, that you are left wanting for more.

In all, it is a must watch whether you are a cricket fan or not or whether you like docu-dramas or not! Maybe you will not enjoy the film so much, but again it is a story you need to be a part of!
