Malayalam actor Mammootty's upcoming film Peranbu, which is aTamil-Malayalam bi-lingual is all set to make a grand release for Diwali this year. This development has definitely surprised many as one other massive film, Vijay 61 is also expected to hit theatre screens around the same time. 

Produced by P.L.Thenappan of Sri Rajalakshmi Films, Pernabu has been written and directed by Ram and also features Anjali, Samuthirakani and Sadhana (of Thanga Meengal fame). The film has Yuvan Shankar Raja for the music, Theni Easwar for cinematography and Sreekar Prasad for the edits.
