Story of Mani Ratnam's Kaatru Veliyidai revealed

Director Mani Ratnam's upcoming movie Kaatru Veliyidai, has been garnering attention and for all the right reasons. Right from the teaser, to the trailer, to the songs, the ace director's directorial venture was so far lauded for its presentation, with a section even drawing parallel between this film and his hit movie of the 90's, Roja. Now, Kaatru Veliyidai which is all set to hit theater screens on April 7, 2017 has been censored by the British Board of Film Classification and according to their website,

Kaatru Veliyidai is a Tamil language romantic drama in which a military pilot, being held as a prisoner of war, remembers his romance with a local doctor.

This summary goes on to throw light on the story of the Karthi - Aditi Rao Hydari feature film, hence bringing out the similarity between it and Roja. Interestingly, AR Rahman who debuted with Roja has also taken care of the music of this film. The movie has been produced by Madras Talkies and will be released by Sri Thenandal Films.
