Vijay 61 - Shooting updates

The popularity of actor Vijay and the anticipation surrounding his 61st film Vijay 61 seems to never dim or fade. News about the updates on his movie in the making with director Atlee keeps pouring in and we are all but happy to take it to his fans and audience. So here is a recap of what we know about the film along with some latest updates :

1. The titles being considered for this project range from Rajinjnakth's Moondru Mugam and Manirathnam's Thalapathy. However nothing has been confirmed as of now. 

2. Vijay will be seen in 3 different roles in the film. And if recent updates are anything to go by, 2 of his roles would be rural based and 1 one would be a modern urban role. 

3. The actor will be seen playing a village chief from the 80s, for which he is currently sporting a handle mustache. Reportedly, each of his character would belong to 3 different religion (Hindu, Christian and Muslim).

4. Nithya Menon is the only heroine to have joined the team already. Both Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be joining Vijay 61 during the UK schedule which is to take place in April, 2017. 

5. As far as the songs are concerned, the director is yet to sit with A.R. Rahman for a composition. However, the director has shot a montage song featuring Vijay in it. 

Produced by Sri Thenandal Films, the yet untitled movie is expected to have a grand release during Pongal, 2018.
