Director Ram Gopal Varma who is known for gritty, grey shade films and is often found getting into controversies because of his opinion on social media platforms, has managed to regain the attention of Tamil Nadu since the Jallikattu debacle. At a time when the political scenario of the state is throwing the most unprecedented moves at its people, the director has hinted that he will be making a biopic on V. Sasikala, former general secretary of the AIADMK. (She assumed this post after the demise of former general secretary cum Chief Minister, J. Jayalalitha). 

Apparently, Varma has managed to collect information from those working at Poes Garden, which played home to both Jayalalitha and Sasikala. His movie will reflect the truth behind their relationship which includes some shocking elements as well. Interestingly, his decision to make a biopic on Sasikala comes a day after she was convicted in the disproportionate assets case. Whether this is a serious announcement of a film or the director's way of trolling the state's most disastrous tragedy is something we will have to wait and watch.
