Yennai Arindhaal becomes the first film in 20 years to get dubbed in Kannada

Actor Ajith's 2015 hit film Yennai Arindhaal, has become the talk-of-the town again. The movie which garnered positive reviews from the audience and critics, is now being dubbed in Kannada as Sathyadev IPS. What's big about this is that the Kannada Film industry had a long-standing ban on dubbed movies, which though lifted by the Competition Commission of India never boosted a producer's confidence in releasing a Kannada version of their films in the last 20 years. Now breaking this unsaid tradition, this Gautham Menon directorial will mark the first entry of a dubbed movie in Sandalwood in the last two decades. Originally produced by AM Rathnam, the film has Trisha and Anushka Shetty as its female leads.
