Vijay's Bairavaa - A potential 100-crore club film

Tamil film industry will kick-start this year with the release of Vijay's biggie Bairavaa, directed by Bharathan. In terms of business, Arun Pandian's A&P Groups have managed to release the film in 55 countries, which is a record for any Tamil film. However, due to issues with the Kerala Theatre Federation, there is uncertainty over the screen count there. It is worth mentioning that Kerala contributed around Rs 16 crore in Theri's collections and it is a crucial market for Vijay.

Bairavaa is also releasing across 500+ screens in Tamil Nadu alone and the film is expected to set new benchmarks in other states and countries as well. Given the massive fan-following for Vijay, Wide release and the 5-day Pongal opening weekend, the movie is likely to get into the 100-crore club. Notably, Vijay's earlier films -- Thuppakki, Kaththi and Theri are already in the 100-crore club.
