Randamoozham - Mohanlal to retire after his 600 crore film !

Actor Mohanlal had a fabulous 2016 contributed by his blockbuster of a movie, Pulimurugan. In addition to earning more than a 100 crores at the box-office, the movie placed Mollywood under national attention and brought laurels for the entire cast and crew. Banking on that kind of success and popularity, the actor has now confirmed to work on his next project. He will be starring as Bheemasenan in a movie titled Randamoozham, which he had announced in 2014. The movie will be made in 2 parts with a mammoth budget of 600 crores and is expected to be multi-lingual. Based on a novel written by MT Vasudevan Nair of the same name, Randamoozham is said to throw a glimpse into the story of Mahabharata from Bhima's (2nd brother of the 5 paandavas) view.

While the movie is only set to begin next year (i.e. 2018) fans of the lead actor are little dejected at his contemplation of retiring post this heavily budgeted project. While there has been no concrete decision or announcement as of now (regarding the actor's retirement), media reports are buzzing with the news of Mohanlal hinting towards that direction during one of his interviews. In a career-span of 30 years, Mohanlal (56) has acted in more than 300 films; predominantly in Malayalam, the rest in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada. He has 1 Padma Shree, 4 National Awards and several state awards to his credit. With still a lot of time pending before Randamoozham's kick-start, whether his decision pans out or will there be a reconsideration is something we will have to wait and watch.
