Kabali Worldwide Day 1 Box Office - Grosses Rs 87+ crore 

Superstar Rajinikanth's Kabali has taken an earth-shattering opening worldwide. The movie is estimated to have grossed Rs.87+ crore from the Day 1 box office (including premiere shows). Thanks to Rajinikanth's towering stardom, the movie has been setting new box office records in India and around the world.   

All-time highest grosser for Day 1 in India

In Tamil Nadu (Rs 20.5 crore) and Kerala (4.23 crore), the movie sets new benchmark for day 1 opening. In Andhra/Telangana, Kabali becomes the highest grosser for a dubbed movie with a gross of Rs 12.5 crore. According to trade sources, in Karnataka, the movie is said to have grossed around Rs 7 crore. The movie had made Rs 5+ crore gross in North India including Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions. Altogether, the movie had grossed 49+ crore in India alone on day 1, becoming the highest grosser for day 1 in India.   

Overseas locations contribute over Rs 35+ crore

North America contributes a major share of Rs 17.7 crore in the overseas market. In Malaysia, the movie had collected RM 1,218,662 (Rs 2 crore) from premiere shows + Friday opening. In UK, the movie is said to have collected £ 174,432 (Rs 1.2 crore) and France contributes Rs 65 lakh. According to sources, UAE alone has contributed around Rs 10 crore. The official data from Singapore and other countries are still awaited.  

While Kabali had minted Rs 85+ crore on day 1 from reported locations, the movie would have now crossed Rs 100 crore with a big share from Tamil Nadu, Andhra/Telangana and Kerala markets.
