Gautham Menon's Yohan Adhyayam Ondru with Vijay Shelved
It is official that Gautham Menon's Yohan Adhyayam Ondru with Vijay is now officially shelved. The announcement was made back in July 2011, almost a year ago. Many promising names like AR Rahman along with Vijay and Gautham were announced to be part of this international espionage thriller.
This news should not come as a surprise to anybody who is closely following the developments. Gautham Menon tweeted affirmatively on Wednesday that "Yohan with vijay is not happening. No film with vijay now. A.L. Vijay is directing vijay's next film. I'm finishing neethaane.. And then will figure out my next film".
Reasons for Yohan's troubles
Gautham Menon made the announcement based on Vijay's verbal commitment to do a movie whenever Gautham is ready to narrate the full script of the movie. Due to Gautham Menon's involvement on VTV(Hindi), Neethane En Ponvasantham (Tamil and Telugu), he was not able to develop Yohan's script beyond the one-liner that he had narrated. In the meantime, Gautham Menon also signed Suriya for Thuppariyum Anand. After waiting for more than a year to get a full-script narration, Ilayathalapathy Vijay decided to transfer his commitment to Director AL Vijay and requested to start his next movie from January 2013. As soon as this happened, the writing was clear on the wall for Gautham Menon and decided to call off the project.
