Maatran & Billa 2 maximum downloads on Day 1

Based on the information gathered from various music download and streaming sites, it appears that Maattraan has set a record for maximum number of downloads and listens among movies released in 2012. The real surprise was that the level of buzz on the music release was more than twice as much as Billa 2. Mugamoodi appears to have had very good opening for relatively new music director. We are totally unclear why the buzz for Thaandavam was surprisingly low even though the movie brings together the winning team that has consistently produced chartbusters in the past. Finally, Kumki has again done very well given relatively unknown star cast and smaller production budget.
