MovieCrow Box Office Report - June 17 to 19

GV Prakash's Enakku Innoru Per Irukku and Sundar C's Muthina Kathirikai had hit the screens on June 17, even as Hollywood film Conjuring 2 was ruling the multiplexes. Check out the opening verdicts of new releases and the box office ranking of Tamil movies in Chennai during last weekend.

1. Enakku Innoru Per Irukku

GV Prakash has teamed up with Sam Anton yet again after Darling, and EIPI opened to mixed reviews and decent occupancy levels. With a lot of movies in the fray, it would be interesting to see if the movie goes on to become a 'Hit'.

2. Muthina Kathirikai

Sundar C's Muthina Kathirikai opened to underwhelming reviews, with a lot of critics literally trashing the film. A lot of them also feel that Sundar C is better at churning out commercial entertainers as a director rather than donning the greasepaint.

3. Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikkaran

Vishnu Vishal's VVV has been declared as a 'Hit' by trade pundits as the movie was still getting noticeable footfalls in its third weekend.

Other Movies

In spite of good reviews, Oru Naal Koothu couldn't attract the audience to the theatres, while Iraivi lost majority of its screens to new releases.

Upcoming week's releases

Amala Paul's Amma Kanaku and Bobby Simhaa's Metro will be hitting the screens on June 24.
