Will Gautham do Suriya or Vijay's movie next?

There are a number of questions in everybody's mind as to which director will pair up with Vijay and Suriya. Everything now is hanging in a fine balance now that nothing seems to be certain. One of the possibilities is that Gautham Menon may not able to start neither Vijay for Yohan nor Suriya for Thuppariyum Anand if he doesn't complete Neethane En Ponvasantham (Tamil and Telugu) on time and get the script ready.

After Thuppakki, Vijay working with Director Vijay is almost confirmed

The news about Ilayathalapathy Vijay acting under Director Vijay has become fairly certain. The music director of this movie, GV Prakash, announced on his twitter page that he is starting his compositions next month for Vijay & Vijay movie. This tentatively titled movie, Thalaivan, is expected to commence song shooting in November 2012 and full-fledged talkie portions starting in January 2013. 

Lingusamy's Production also confirms the project with Suriya after completion of Singam 2 

The report published by ToI this morning quoted Lingusamy's brother and producer, Subash Chandrabose, saying "All I can tell you is that the film[with Lingusamy] will go on floors from February, 2013". If this is indeed true, then it means that Gautham Menon will not also do Thuppariyum Anand starting next year. This comes as a bit of shocking news that it was widely believed that Gautham Menon will start with Suriya for Thuppariyum Anand as soon as Suriya wraps-up Singam-2 with Hari by early next year

Will Suriya opt for Lingusamy or Gautham Menon 

From Suriya's perspective, he usually gives higher priority to the director who has a bound script and well planned to go for the shoot. Lingusamy had the luxury of time to fine tune the script since the completion of Vettai. Knowing very well that Suriya will not wait nor agree to move forward with work-in-progress script, it may be a photo-finish between Gautham Menon and Lingusamy.

Root Cause of this issue

One can not entirely blame these directors for all the date confusions. The root cause of the delay is due to the FEFSI strikes and producer council confusions during the first half of this year, which led to delay of all the current projects resulting in all future commitments stockpiling against one another. 

There is really a tough competition between the directors (shown in the above photo) on who will get to direct Suriya and Vijay first.
