Sesh has somehow managed to keep himself occupied since the past half a decade. Having debuted in the overly underrated Panjaa, he got a lot of people to sit up and notice his acting prowess. But you got to hand it to Potluri – he’s the one who saw the writing prowess. Sesh returns post Dongaata and Sharma returns post Garam.

We follow an NRI’s search for a missing girl.

Sesh’s writing itself is so tight – with his story being gripping from the first few moments itself, that one cannot bear the pressure of the revelations which are actually happening. The movie is clear and focused, clocking in at a crisp 120 minutes. That’s how thrillers are to be made.

Ravikanth Perepu makes an outstanding debut. He is a director to watch out for. Without a doubt. He knows his script and he makes sure Arjun Shastri keeps the editing tight – resulting in a pulse-pounding affair. Shaneil Deo’s cinematography is vivid and just right. Sricharan Pakala’s score is i-sync with the atmosphere while the limited number of songs keep you glued to the screen.

Adivi Sesh’s debut as the sole lead in this thriller is fantastic. What is more fantastic, is his writing. He keeps the tension going. Adah Sharma is decent. Vennela Kishore and Satyam Rajesh are the most amazing revelations in this motion picture. The supporting cast is just right.

Kshanam is a thriller film which has more plot than Dookudu, Attarintiki Daredi and Magadheera combined. And then some. It is a fantastic piece of writing, direction, performance and entertainment – providing the ultimate satisfaction needed from a thriller like this. Well done, Sesh. Very very well done!

Rating – 4/5.
