Sanam Re Movie Review – Been There, Seen That a 1000 Times

Silly script and mediocre performances lands DivyaKhosla Kumar’s directorial Sanam Re in deep waters. Apart from the songs and the beautiful cinematography, nothing in this amateurish film works pretty much like Divya’s last film Yaariyan.

The story starts with Aakash (PulkitSamrat), frustrated with his job and a PJ cracking boss is called upon by his parents for the final settlement of their property where his daadu (Rishi Kapoor) is suffering from Alzheimer. Things go back the past when he visits his town and  remembers his childhood love Shruti (YamiGautam) from which he got separated. But on a business trip to Canada, where he has to woo a divorcee Mrs. Pablo (UrvashiRautela) to get a deal going for his boss, he meets Shruti and everything becomes a chaos, much like the film.

Talking about the performances, much can’t be said because of the weak characterization. PulkitSamrat has done an good enough job in some scenes but has mostly been ordinary. YamiGautam needs to improve, it was as if she was playing the role of a weirdo girl who doesn’t have a clue about what’s going on in life. Urvashi’s role has nothing much to explore in acting terms and has been kept mostly for the skin showing.

The only thing that doesn't bore the audience are the songs. Apart from that, the wonderful locations of Leh, Canada and Himachal are something to look good at. DivyaKhosla Kumar should feature in music videos or T Series songs rather than to waste money on senseless films.

In all, Sanam Re is long, boring and nothing new. It doesn't make any sense for you give this high budget silly film a watch this weekend.
