Chandramouli

An obese woman faces multiple problems due to her weight as her mother attempts to find her a suitable husband.

Kovelamudi makes terrific moves for and behind the camera – his cast is superlative, the crew is equally sensational and his story is simple and linear. While 131 minutes goes on for a bit more than needed with the lack of attention to detail and subplots, the message delivered is crystal clear – emotionally and entertainingly.

Prakash Kovelamudi’s direction is just right as he provides us a good time with great humor and marvelous characters. Kanika Dhillon’s writing is beautiful but the screenplay is a tad too long. M.M. Keeravani’s songs are lengthy as well, but they just about get by – similar to his background score. Nirav Shah’s cinematography is wonderful – as he incorporates time-slicing with élan.

Anushka is the sole leading factor for this motion picture and she is fabulous. She has always been a wonderful actress and is extremely natural on screen – may it be Baahubali, Vedam or Arundhati. She shares a sizzling and outstanding chemistry with Urvashi – who herself is brilliant. Arya is fine, but leaves no major impact. The supporting roles are great. The special appearances are pointless.

Size Zero aka InjiIduppazhagi is a romantic comedy which has a wonderful cast, great characters, some harmless humor and brilliant chemistry between the actors. However, Dhillon’s screenplay is a bit too lengthy and Keeravani’s score hardly makes any impact. And while the ending gets just plain atrocious, it is only Anushka’s grandiose of a screen-presence which makes all this worthwhile.
