Suriya is Thuppariyum Anand

Yet another script tailor-made for Ajith has fallen on Suriya's lap. The scripts initially written for Ajith have given huge breaks in Suriya's career. Suriya who is very careful about not repeating similar roles has gone ahead and accepted this back-to-back cop story, expected to begin after the completion of Singam-2 with Hari. 

History of Ajith's scripts accepted by Suriya

Nerukku Ner was shot with Ajith for a week before he pulled out for unknown reasons. Director Vasanth later roped in Suriya to fill Ajith's shoes. Another movie that was scripted by AR Murugadoss with Ajith in mind was Ghajni. The movie went to become a career defining hit for Suriya at a time when his career was tottering. Thuppariyum Anand will be the third time a publicly announced movie scripted for Ajith has come to Suriya. Apparently, Ajith could not accept this movie because of his prior commitment made to director Siruthai Siva to start shooting in early 2013.

Yesterday in a press release, Suriya claimed the movie will have romance, action and great songs stylishly packaged to satisfy fans. Gautham Menon calls Thuppariyum Anand as a contemporary styled period flick and expected to break some cliches. The movie will begin shooting during the first half of 2013.
